Lovely place to fish, no luck this time but I'll have another go next year.

1 foot 9 inches and fairly clear. Everything looked good, but nothing seen or touched. Raining now, so no doubt the river will rise quite quickly and there will be some new opportunities.

No salmon seen or encountered. A nice beat but couldn't find the path to the bottom two pools, very overgrown.

No fish caught.

Another beat of the Lugg in skeletal form, but full of fish. The number landed is detailed but the number of long range releases and literal inspections would number double that! All fish to a single nymph, Hares ear and PTN, leader of 0.08, lots of fish in the deeper water at the weir mid stretch. Another cracking section of Wye and Usk fishing.

3 Barbel

Arrived to find venue still affected by peaty water although level and weather favourable. Fishing proved difficult with just one decent barbel and nine small fish. Caught chub and dace on float for a break from losing feeders in the many snags! Clearly this venue has potential on the right day and with more awareness of how to navigate around the rocky bottom. All barbel caught on feeder with various pellet based hook baits.

First time I've fished The Creel. Beautiful stretch of river.
River was low and still running off slightly.
I had 1 Barbel and 7 nice chub.

Hopefully for great things,water perfect ,only saw one salmon move so maybe they have all run further up the river,or I am in need of a guide.try again tomorrow further up the river.

The score carried on but SM sealed the victory 11-6. Barbel fishing slowed down today but the chub were great sport. An amazing stretch and two amazing days fishing. River was high and just held bottom with 3 oz feeders. All fish caught on Pellet.
