Had been looking forward to a day at this lovely venue, but was expecting a difficult day, due to low clear river and likely bright sunshine.
Started on R/H Bank above the ford, caught early on float fished meat 10 chub between 1lb and 2 lb about 9 am river switched off. Moved down below the ford had two Chub about 4lb then lost one and never saw another fish.
Packed in at 11.30 as it was clear nothing was going to feed until sun had gone down and temperature had dropped.
Was very suprised to not see any Barbel even with the elements very much against you, as this stretch was full of them last year.

I fished in the late afternoon and evening on another very warm day, but cloudy for most of the time. River very low and warm. Floating weed a bit of a nuisance. Tried a variety of baits and methods, with pellet on light leger accounting for most fish, including an eel. No sign of barbel until nearly 9 o'clock, then had two, both 4-5lb, with another lost.

Very hot and river very low but in surprisingly good condition - clear. Too hot to tempt fish during day but come 9pm, for an hour or so, fish were keen to participate. All caught in streamy water. Best 2lb. Classic evening's sport.

After weeks of hot weather and no rain I knew that it wouldn’t be a good time to fish… but I had a free day… you know how it is. Slightly overcast compared to the last few weeks of blue skies. Muggy, but not too bad, but the stream was (as to be expected) down to its bare bones. It was a bit like fishing in puddles, and as the Duhonw flows mainly over rock the water was exceptionally clear, which made it near impossible not to scare fish away. The element of surprise was non existent.
And I saw lots of very skittish fish, flying around the few pools there were. I tried dry for a bit, and had a bit of interest, but reverted back to the tried and tested nymph off a Klinkhammer indicator. Most of the fish (small up to 6”) were caught in the morning session. Had to leave around 6pm, not sure I would have caught any more. I thought the pools below the main bridge road may have coughed up a few more fish, but no. A great day though.

Managed to grab a couple hours in the evening. Another bright hot day so I fished around the dam area but still no luck. Nice place to pass a could of hours on a sunny summer evening
