A very nice location, river low, a bright sunny day. Due to recent conditions I did not expect to catch any Barbel and did not, caught 3 eels instead, still a lovely day on the River

One of our favourite beats. Cleaned lice of all fish. All unhooked in the water, no need to take them on the bank.

Evening spell was best.

Tough day today, only raised about 6 and briefly connected with one - I think they were just small trout playing around. Could see every stone in every pool, even the deepest - useful for future trips but useless for fishing today - even watched the weighted nymph I put on for a short time trundle along the bottom.... River is slippy bedrock and the whole range of rock and stone sizes - needed the wading staff, with more water and a bit of colour the staff would be essential. Did not leave until deep into the evening but nothing was moving.

The river was quite low. It was around 27 or 28 degrees and very sunny. We started fishing around 14:30 through to 21:00.
We fished under the trees below the shallows where there appears to be a deeper section. I was using a running lead plus 12mm halibut pellet while Chris was using a cage feeder with the same bait.

We had a great day and this is a lovely stretch of the Wye with plenty of scope for future visits. The Fishing Passport and booking system works really well.
