Tricky morning on the power Stanton. Water was the colour of stewed tea, and hadn't dropped as far as expected. The were mayflies rising, and what looked like pale wateries, but didn't see any rising fished before leaving at late morning.
Got absolutely zero interest in a duo, picked up two fish fingers sized on a scaled down french leader.

Weather sunny with some cloud cover. River looking good. Fished 10AM to 6PM. Caught 2 WBT on PTN in the faster water at the house end of the beat. Access to the river is very, very tricky. Was a bit dissapointed how hard it was to get to rhe water. Enjoyable nevertheless.

Arrived to find two Kayakers camped on the rocks below the bottom parking spot and finished the day with a family in a canoe and on a stand up paddle board making their way downstream, both pleaded ignorant when challenged but these were well equipped regular paddlers. The fishing was good in the morning until 10.30 am but then shut down, we need some rain to get things going.

Half day, arrived about 4pm and walked the beat in hot, humid sunshine, nothing much happening but by the time I started fishing a 5pm the river was starting to come alive.
Fishing dries I took 3 trout, missed a similar number and lost a very good fish which took a CDC Yellow May Dun. It was very difficult to drag myself away from the river and plenty of rising trout at about 9:30, a lovely evening with plenty of fly life noted.

Evening outing for an hour. Began to fish at 1900. Hot, sunny and windless. River low with multiple fly hatches of olives, mayfly, sedge. Fish in pools rising freely but great caution needed to get close enough in clear water. Two 9 inch trout to hand and returned with several rises missed all to small spent mayfly imitation. Caution, at bottom end of beat in single bank section on the opposite unfenced bank, there are bullocks with one fearsome looking bull. Take care especially if you have a doggy friend along.
WUF Note : Please note that NO DOGS are allowed on ANY of the Wild Stream beats.

A fantastic days fishing, and although fish were rising to a Klinkhammwr, most fish were liking the nymph.
This water does need some knowledge and will challenge you! Thank you WUF for making water like this available.

A tricky beat to wade from the main road side, and a staff is a must! A great days sport, and a nice Shad, a new species for me, to finish the day off. All fish taken on a nymph, not many rises seen through the day.

Fantastic day, with 11 trout landed of 4 to 10 inches (approx). Fished Diawl Bach and Coch y bonddhu, wet early then dry later. The track is in pretty good shape, would have driven my VW transporter down if I'd have known. Well worth a visit, had the entire mountain range (it seemed) to myself+ not bothered by midges unlike some of the streams around.
