Mainly cloudy with a few squally showers. Levels lowish. Downstream section of river almost inaccessible due to undergrowth along riverbank. Fished hares ear nymphs in deeper section up near bridge. 1 small pretty brown trout caught and released. Another good fish hooked with a thump and immediately lost.

Been a while since last here and has certainly grown on some, been a good growing season! .It was a bit tricky to find a clear way through it first (discounting the camp field stretch...too busy on the site) but crossing over to the left bank via the sheep drink just where the camping fields end and then walking up that field and then in to the small field after this there is a way through in to the river here (just !) and brings you on to the river just below dog leg a to the right (see pic ) where there is a very good and attractive pool ! A good number of good sized fish where in the pool here and then its wadeable for quite a way up until I got to some very deep pools and had to get out , which was interesting ! The banks where a bit socked in again for quite a way so soldiered on to the back of the Tregunter farm area and here the banks open out and there is a series of really very good runs and pools just perfect for a dry and a good number of fish within.
Absolutely great fun and all the fish where of good size up to 11" and all fell for the old faithful size 16 para adams , even though there was very little hatching they would come up for it very well indeed just fished blind in to likely spots. Plenty were missed too on the strike as they really nailed the fly at times.
A pair of kingfishers being busy up and down all afternoon and a red kite overhead at tree top height just added to a lovely afternoon ! Loads of minnows in the river too.

Fished upstream from the car parking at cwm farm. May flies were coming off all day but not many fish rising. Throughout the day had success on a yellow may spider pattern retrieved slowly through the deeper pools. At 4pm the fish switched on to the dry fly in the streamy water and enjoyed the best evening of dryfly fishing I have ever experienced, catching 15+ fish in 2 hours on a parachute adams. All fish from 3-8" and returned safe.

5 x trout 6-8 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer. A quick early morning trip up the channel with water very low and fish remarkably spooky - mostly on the pool tails. I missed or spooked a lot, but it was good to be out after a week indoors

Tough going with low water and the annoying down stream wind has returned.
I only fished half the beat up to the train station where I called it a day after losing my fly to a tree.
3 Trout 6,8 and 10 inches 1 on a nymph and 2 to a soft hackle dry.
Still a few Mayfly hatching.
