Not surprisingly river low , Very hot day so was always going to difficult . The only fish to be found was in the middle swim on the lower section , but was unfishable due to a fallen tree blocking any chance of a cast to them. No fish caught .

An attractive stretch and given the extreme heat we were happy to land 6 barbel between 6.5lbs and 5 chub between 2.5lbs and 3lbs plus a small eel. All fish fell to small halibut pellet. The directions were excellent and it was good to be able to park so close to the river. We were confused by the "double bank" as we could not see how to get to the far bank and in any event we couldn't identify any fishable swims. Having walked the majority of the beat it appeared that the only sensible swims were upstream of the parking area and as such we were pleased to be the only two rods booked on the beat.

Hard day, too hot, low water conditions, made our own swim below the wood.
Challenging ! 2 Chub caught as the cloud cover began, late on. Only saw 3 Canoes all day.

Still blisteringly hot so decided to wait until later in the day. Fished from 5.00pm to 9.00pm in the river at the far end of the reservoir. A good moderate breeze blowing from the dam end today. Several fish rising when I arrived although the temperature still in the high 20's. Four cracking trout in wonderful condition between 1 and 1.5lbs all carefully returned. Oddly, the fish went off the feed at about 8pm. Not a lot of fly on the water and was surprised to see very few sedge hatching but again very pleased to see the feeder stream black with trout fry. There were so many I had to wait for them all to get out of the way before I waded through the shallow flowing water. All fish fell to a weighted size 12 stick fly. A wonderful evenings fishing.
