Glorious day in the stunning Wye Valley, warm and sunny with a gentle breeze. New parking arrangements are simple but what a shame to loose the terrace overlooking the top of the beat enjoying a sarnie and a glass of wine!
River as low as I can remember but still a challenge to cross lower down the beat. A mixture of flies trickled off most of the day but nothing to get the fish rising so spent the day changing tactics from nymphing to dry to clink and dinking. We caught and returned 10 fish between the 3 of us. 9 wbt and 1 oos grayling. All returned safely. One or two big 'uns including the grayling. Most fish taken on weighted nymphs but one angler persisted optimistically with a dry fly (probably an Adams knowing him) and was rewarded with 2 wbt.
The beat is comfortable for 3 rods but I personally would not fish it with more on a slow day like today where it paid to cover the water.

Only managed to fish a couple of hours in the middle of the day. Leave a bit of time to allow for walk down to the start of the beat. Once there I found plenty of insect life but nothing in the way of fish moving during my visit. Low trees make some of the fishing tricky and fallen trees across the river make progress along the beat a bit difficult at times. That said, it was an enjoyable visit.

After a few days of sunshine today was cloudy and cooler with a few spots of rain. Fished nymphs up to lunch time with no joy at all. Tried dries in the afternoon. Only saw one rise which I cast to and got a response but no fish. There were hatches, including some may fly, but no response from the fish.
As already mentioned the designated parking area now has tables and benches on it. I parked on the grass verge opposite the pub car park.
