The sunniest day in the history of sunny days. I have successfully tanned a semi-permanent t-Shirt onto myself; but that would be today's only triumph! Water looking absolutely lovely for the coming days.. today was 1'11 on Llanstephan gauge and falling, with a medium tinge, running through pretty warm at 12 degrees. Spring about ready to burst into full swing on the Upper Wye.

Full on sun all day, river a bit high, no fish. But a very enjoyable day. Could not get very far into the river because of the height but tried dries all down the bottom half of the beat and nymphs at top and bottom. Some fly life but only saw one fish. Very hot for time of year but still great to be on the river

Sunny day with light wind, the river was running beautifully with a very slight tinge of colour. This was my first trip to this lovely little river, which unfortunately ended in a blank. I did lose a small fish on the last pool and I may have missed a couple of bites too.
Didn't see a single fish rise despite there being a small hatch, on one pool I sat and watched flies landing and skating on the water. I sat patiently, expecting a fish to take but nothing happened. I will be back to this pleasant river once it switches on.

Glorious lunchtime and afternoon working up the stream following a snap decision to make use of the fine weather and can off work for the day.
Fog lingering all the way up the Severn vale all morning, but started to burn off when I arrived at the stream around lunchtime. Stream running fast, high and pretty coloured. Made wading awkward with not having much of a view. Cursed myself for no wading staff as some sections are a little uneven underfoot and its a little while since I last fished this stretch so a little hazy on the topography. A number of trees have come down over the winter. They don't affect wading but a couple of pools are now harder to fish without getting snagged up.
4 wbt to hand over the course of the afternoon taken on nymphs; olive and then a cream caddis type thing once the olive succumbed to the vegetation (both bead headed). An equal number managed to slip the hook before I could land them.
Prospected with dries in the likely places on a few pools but don't think the fish are looking up yet, despite sporadic hatches occurring all afternoon. Didn't see a single rise
