Nice to get out after such a dry spell with low water levels. John and I fished the top run and I picked up one chub of about 6 oz fishing sunken deer hair sedge. Fished this pattern sub surface till dark picking up three more chub of same size. One trout took and thrashed the surface before detaching itself. John Lewis decided to move to Woodstream for last hour and picked up 6 trout between 5 and 8oz on the black gnat wet fly with takes throughout the fast water down to the belly.
water quite warm and 0.42m. Lovely late evening fishing.

Pleasant day with nice breeze. Because of the floating weed needed to recast frequently. Lots of chub bites and odd barbel in between on pellets and paste. Very enjoyable.

A hot, sunny and difficult day. Lots of weed coming through also didn’t help.

Lovely beat, great variety of scenery and the fishery manager is very friendly and helpful. Fishing the meadows area had one barbel around 6lb and a few good chub. My brother lost a barbel in the bottom pool but banked a few good chub. Stayed at the highly recommended 'The Hostelrie at Goodrich' which is well priced and extremely well placed for this fishery.

2 x trout 9-14 inches, 1 x grayling 13 inches. The recent rain was enough to produce a 2 or 3 inch and very dirty rise in the water level this morning, which probably suppressed the trout and grayling activity. Good as far as it goes, but we need a lot more to flush the muck out of the river bed.
