Hot day but plenty of shade now, a trickle of flies hatching but nothing rising. Concentrated on the faster runs with a small grey duster para. - my 2.5 lb leader looked like a tow rope in the slow pools! Plenty of smaller trout willing to have a look, most came short or I touched briefly. Managed to land 7, averaging 8" biggest 10", no sign of the bigger brethren. Very nice to get up close to 2 otters making their way downstream - they swam through a small pool I was in and then stopped to look back at me - I suppose they don't see many people on this remote small stream.

Chosen method today was bomb and pellet, 10mm. A steady day with no hectic feeding spell, fish coming out throughout the afternoon/evening that we fished. Another day of bright sunny conditions. Wildlife today included a family of young sparrowhawks.

I only fished a 4 hour evening session with no bites at all. A very scenic stretch of river, but I could only find 3 fishable swims ?

Second trip on this beat in a week and another great day of sport. It was warmer, brighter and water levels had dropped, but this didn't stop the fish from feeding. Apart from a baron spell mid afternoon fish were caught throughout the beat in shallow runs or deeper pockets. Trout ranging from 8" to 15" and grayling pretty much the same. Various flies done the trick from dries, nymphs and spiders. Flies with pheasant tail bodies being the most successful.

Fished for few hours early morning. Lots of resident fish showing in the Cadora pool & also a few in bakers crib & alders pool. Popped back early evening for couple more hours. No fish interested in taking due to high Water temp & algae bloom in water.

Three great days fishing with my son (the new format catch return would not allow me to edit the form to show two rods).
Water levels were very low and landing the larger fish over 4lbs was a little tricky. Mostly caught on pellet/feeder with a couple of chub to bread flake (6lbs largest). Most barbell in the 1lb to 2lb range with only a couple just over 6lb. Canoe traffic was very light because we fished early morning and evenings only with the mornings by far the most productive.

Very hot and bright day, quite few coloured salmon showing - particularly in cottage and maddox pools. Canoeists were a problem all day, somehaving a total disregard for procol. No fish caught. It's worth noting that in these difficult conditions much of the river bed can be seen.... valuable insight for more promising days in the future, so not a wasted day.
