Surprisingly blank session, river was in perfect condition.

37 inch deep bodied fish estimated at 22lb to Robin Hemming on a FC

1 Salmon

First time here, great river. Good hatches all day, nothing rising. Got 3 on a quill nymph NZ style, couple of splashy rises at the para adams

River level low and clear very sunny there was a hatch of March Brown very early on aprox 9.30 with no reaction, with a few hatching through out the day. Mostly caught on nymphs, I took two on drys which both was rising in the tails of the pools largest fish was a trout 1lbs 1/4

Early hatch between 10 am and midday then it went dead

16 lb fish this morning, 3 casts with single hook fly c after 3 hours of fly fishing. Exasperating at times this fishing business.

Lots of granom flying although very little hatching, think they came off the day before.
A few fish rising especially in the morning to egg layers. Temperature suddenly dropped in the late afternoon, and ended the sport after a glorious hot sunny day.
Trout to about 10 inch, and a few out of season grayling, some of the larger fish looked a little worse for ware presumably after spawning.
