Red letter day on the Wye, barbel galore up to 11lb an chub up to 6lb, majority of fish taken on big 15 mm boilies and various size pellets, we all fished from the woods an there's plenty of swims too, good access an the walk to the woods isn't as bad as people make out, take plenty of bait with you, you'll need it!!

Raining day but anyway water level very low, very clear water, 12 fish, size up to 8inches on gold head nymph. Few fish lost as well. So can say that definitely will return in May or early June try dry fly. Not a pleasant surprise, a dead wild boar near the shore of the stream. Also, virtually all types of boar tracks, it seems that a lot of them in the woods, and you need to be careful. The rest is a very interesting fishing despite the fact that the portion of the creek for fishing very short which can be overcome for 2-3 hours.

We had an enjoyable days angling the river was above the Normal autumn levels and a little coloured and dropping. The morning session was good, pellets seem to be the only effective bait, midday sun bought a lull in the action, but the late afternoon and evening were much better, we finished the day off with a 14lb barbel!
There are 5 or 6 'comfortable' pegs on this stretch with other more challenging runs that need a rope. You will need robust gear if you are going to get these barbel out and a long landing landing net pole is a must.
PS if you have seen and rescued a 10 foot landing net floating through Ross or Monmouth please give it to a young angler who will look after it better than me.

First time fishing this beat and was impressed at how well maintained it was. Parking and access to the river was very easy but it rained all day and the river was roaring down at pace. River still rising when I decided to call it a day at about 4pm and met up with another group who again had no
luck. We all decided that the day was a wash-out. We tried but were beaten by the weather conditions. Will be back as this is a very interesting beat.

Very nice fishing, grayling were quite easy to catch taking anything with pink on, couple came up for the dry. Weather was rubbish the river flooded and I got stuck on the other side, very dangerous.
