River in perfect condition. 16lb hen Lady's pool. Cascade. 19.05 - just as The Archers started...

1 Salmon

Started in Rock Pool, had a trout just below rock on brass tube cascade. Three casts later had another pull which I expected to be another trout but rod kicked over fish took a few feet of line and came unstuck. 1 salmon lost and that was the only action for the day.

This ended up being a rather short session as having fished a couple of the Wild Stream beats earlier in the day I was feeling it by the time I got to Ty-Newydd. I love this place though and used it as a base. Taking breakfast here as the sun came up, coming back for lunch between fishing, and eating dinner as the sun went down.
2 trout caught and put back including my largest fish of the day a slim fish of 31cm.

I had forgotten just how much time and physical effort it can take to fish a wild stream of this nature, it is truly wild in it's nature. Fantastic! 12 trout all to Nymphs all returned + 1 salmon par.

An enjoyable couple of hours with the trout i feeding mood especially in the first 200 yards upstream of the bridge where the parking is located.
9 trout and 1 salmon par all to nymphs. I did have a brief spell on the dry and had some takes but none to hand or net

I takable fish (returned), otherwise very small. Progress not as simple as suggested due to several trees across water. Quite a challenge for an octogenarian!

Great days fishing the river had tinge of colour the fish took dry and nymphs readily. Good luck getting the huge oak out of the river it's about mid beat it's not been there long so felt I should report it. Already looking forward to my return visit in the winter.

No luck. Water level very high.

Lovely secluded lake. We caught roach and small bream throughout the day and saw the odd carp cruising just below the surface. The booking office was very helpful. Thanks WUF.
