We fished from late afternoon without success. Only one run just upstream from the studios showing any sign of life. I hooked a significant fish on a sedge around 7.30 but lost said fish as it ran into roots of one of the several trees that have fallen into the river. Rest of river completely quiet with no sign of any fish. Having read previous reports we were impressed with access arrangements.

Had a lovely day's fishing on the cletwr today. The river was a little bit high and coloured but it made it easier to sneak up on the fish all fish were caught on a size 18 hares ear nymph. If there's anyone that is reading this and hasn't fished this beat I would highly recommend it and go with a short rod, light tipped small flies. Make sure any fish you catch are released carefully as they are beautiful.

Terrible weather - high winds and heavy showers, but hoping it would be better fishing rather than high sunshine all day.
Was not to be. Fishing was slow with just two chub to 3.5 on open ended feeder, 4ft hooks length and pellet. Both fish came during the evening with a cast well down the swim.
Lots of salmon jumping which was great to see. Secluded beat, boat the traffic not an issue and everyone was very polite. Feel this stretch would be better with roving approach, but the banks are very steep in places, so recommend always fishing with a buddy here and within earshot.

River level and colour were good despite the horrendous weather, gale force winds and torrential rain made casting interesting. Had to stop fishing for short periods due to endless canoe traffic. Some sensible but most pay no regard to the fact that you are trying to fish here and just paddle through the pool a little more than a rod length away. No fish caught, or seen all day. A lot of money to pay just to watch canoeists all day.

Very fishable beat and an enjoyable day. Others aren't joking when they advise felt soles, it is slippery.
2 trout caught, 1 large salmon slashed at a sunray shadow but was missed. Water coloured up during the day and was abandoned late afternoon.
Very enjoyable day.

River was up slightly and looked great but despite trying several spots could not find the fish with the exception of a welcome Chub later on. Hoped the recent rainfall would make for a good day but not to be. Had a lot of Chub knocks early on at the Beach area and returned there for evening and caught my fish and missed the only real rod bender of a bite and had a feeling my chance had gone then, fished till dusk was just not my day. Watched a baby Kingfisher across on the walls in the evening and he certainly had more success than me. Still enjoyed the day and it makes the good ones all the better when you struggle occasionally.
look forward to my next visit.

Having fished this small stretch twice before I fancied a few but now the river was low and this is a shallow beat with no depth, very windy and rainy so didn't float fish, I had a solitary Chub on pellet and CH blanked. Looking forward to a return in September.

Fished in the wood, the first swim produced 2 chub before a move slightly downstream to another swim. This produced 1 barbel (8lb 14oz)with another lost when it cut the line on the rocks and another 2 chub best 4lb 8oz. All in all a hard day in terrible weather with all the fish showing signs of being caught recently.
