Unfortunately no fish caught. not even any discernible 'knocks' until late eve. The fish just weren't there! Never mind. Lovely beat though.

Stream running very low but managed to catch a few small trout all on the dry. A nice chap I met from wye and usk aked if I would report any Himalayan Balsam sightings upstream. I'm happy to say I didn't see any.

Fished from midday to 5pm using mainly wet fly. Plenty of rises in the deeper pool between the bridge and the weir but only hooked one dace. No rises or takes in the stretch above the weir. Nevertheless a beautiful beat and definitely worth a return visit.

Arrived at crack of dawn, on what looked like promise of a great days fishing. Beat and swims excellent, and weather appeared to be in our favour. However by mid morning with no bites or fish it soon turned into a real slog. We tried most of swims but to no avail, couldn't even see a fish let alone catch one. Mid afternoon M.B. managed to catch 2 eels but unfortunately that was all. Worked our way back up beat to see if late afternoon/early evening produced, but still no luck, and finally called it a day at about 7.30pm as we were booked onto another beat following day. Plenty of salmon and trout rising and jumping and no problems with canoe traffic. A cracking beat that we want to try again.

Great day on the Wye, a tough walk to the far end of beat with the hill climb in the middle so minimal gear would help. Fish mainly on pellet feeder some chub on bread. Caught from several swims on the lower two thirds, didn't get to fish the top part. Many thanks WUF.
