I've walked around this remote location many times in the past and thought it was about time I gave it a go on a bright and sunny August day. It is set in a stunning and location and lies a few miles south of Builth Wells.
On arrival I headed for the south bank and set up a waggler rod and a feeder rod and feeding a mix of hemp, corn and pellets but no action on either method in the first couple of hours so I headed for the north bank and after an unsuccessful hour or so on the float rod I switched to feeder at long range and was soon rewarded with my first wild carp of around a pound. This was followed by a further 2 more carp to 2lb and a chub around 1 1/2lb.Fish caught on both pellet and corn. Now looking forward to a future visit with a little more knowledge in tow!

fished the afternoon after cutting bracken off the bank side all morning ,picked up all of the trout from the heads of the fast water on klinkhammer and sedges the grayling were holding in deeper water ,perhaps trying to get away from the two broods of goose anders that have adopted the beat, klink and dink with half of the grayling taking the holy grail nymph....a good days fishing.

A couple of hours fishing for two novice anglers. Fished dry fly method. No fish caught, but surface splashes at least gave confidence that there were fish present. A good learning exercise, and we will endeavour to try again.

Our first time on this beat, so a bit of time was spent walking around looking for likely spots. The river looked low, so most of our time was spent on the top part of the beat. The best bite time by far was 8pm onwards, as the middle of the day was very hot and bright.

Warm sunny day, river low and clear but not exceptionally so. Fished midday to 7.00pm. 3lb chub from end peg on left bank, on double sweetcorn.
Chub of 4lb, 2 x 3lbs and 1.5lbs from middle swim on left hand bank, on rolled (3 swan link) garlic spam. Couldn't bet a twitch on halibut pellet.
Thought I was only one fishing, but someone else was. Far bank in full sun, and first swim favorite for family picnics, and dog walkers.
WUF Note : Foy Bridge fishery allows 2 individuals. A second angler was booked in that day.

Promising water level, but a bright day. Path to water overgrown. Otherwise enjoyable fishing on the fly.
