Fished the upper stretch of the Dee from the Fridge Pool to the Top Pool. Olives hatching throughout the day but very few fish rising to them. Rose a few to a small rough olive dry fly but none stuck. Took a couple of fish Euro nymphing through the fat riffles and picked up some more swing wet flies down and across: best fly was a hare's ear and partridge spider with a silver wire butt.

First time fished, river may have been low. Also several trees down at various points along the beat. No fish. Very attractive river but didn't see any fish or any rises at all.

Another day in paradise! Finally broke the duck and managed two 12-inch butter-bellied brownies on a march brown in 20minutes in the middle of the day. Hatches are over nearly as soon as they begin but was in the right spot at the right time.
