River was pushing through, with good visibility. Beautiful day to be back in the valley, after my last visit 18 months ago.
No fly life all day, and hence no fish seen. Fished the duo most of the day, and managed to winkle out a small grayling on a ptn. Just couldn't find the fish. A couple of the styles are showing there age, the second one from the top, right side,is rotted through on one upright. Nearly took a header into the brambles. The river is in fine fettle, but looks like it will break through to the road soon. (See photo, road is behind hedge on right.)

Not a bad way to spend a Monday! Caught my first wild trout and my first fish nyphming. Lost a couple more and while a fairly short window lots of rises. Beautiful stretch of water and if your lucky enough to see the owner Shawn when your there he will show you the best places to fish.

Bright day, but still a quite cold. River running, with just a hint of colour. Two on the nymph, PTN it olive, under a Klink. One on the dry (deer hair emerger) at 1240. A very brief hatch, of a few March Brown, but nothing at all prolific.
The beat is very tough to fish for most of the length, being an outside bend. But the top 200m is excellent dry fly and nymphing water.
