Chubtastic session to be fair and all on trotted 8 mil pellet

Tough day at Caradoc strong downstream wind all day and the weed coming down was terrible !

It was a pleasure to be back on this beat after many years of absence. The morning started well at the bottom of the beat fishing the duo where two good fish (around 2lb) each threw the hook. They took the beaded nymph in the deep glide above the rapids. A strong downstream then blew which made fishing difficult. I moved to the top of the beat and fished a team of spiders in the faster water and worked downstream. I was rewarded with a salmon parr and two brown trout.

Caught on a wooly bugger. Missed a few takes. Conditions barely fishable due to high winds.

3 angler's all fished, 1 barbel about 4lb. Lots of chub bites, weather stayed kind to us. All caught on pellets and meat.

Fished for a few hours in the afternoon, sedge came on late and took one in the pool below the bridge in an elk hair sedge, 16” long lean thing.

Really enjoyable days fishing. All fish caught on the feeder, not a bite on the float or rolling meat.
Biggest barbel was 2lb ish, smallest about 10 oz, lovely little fish. The Chub were up to 4 lb.

No hatch to speak of so very few fish rising. Managed to winkle out 6 brownies between us on dries best 10” but fat strong fish

Will caveat and say I am a beginner which could be why I didn't catch anything! Water level is still low but is recovering given recent rain. Access generally good throughout.
