Read JD from Porthcawls recent comments with interest. I too usually try the para adams first and often stick with it. Today I thought I might try alternatives, and usefully there were all sorts of hatches going on, during and between showers. River clear but with good flow. By the end of the day I had used a small iron blue, medium grey duster, and larger mid and light olives, trying to match colour and size of what was around. All caught fish, I landed 15 from 7" to 11", the largest ones on the light olive including a much bigger one that came off when jumping. All from the faster runs and heads of pools. Fascinating and rewarding day, must try to keep flexible and use the fly box!!

Had a lovely time, caught one or two fish on small CDC before heavens and dropped a monsoon on us and turned the river the colour of chocolate. So sadly we had to finish at lunch time but we will be back thank you.

I only had time to fish for about an hour. One brownie of around 6 inches caught on a dry klinkhammer. I saw one other fish move, but I wasn't there very long. It was rainy with a bit of wind. It's a beautiful beat though and I will return when I have more time.
Directions were spot on.

Very easy booking system and great service when I called up to change dates etc. Very enjoyable few hours spent on this beat late afternoon into the evening. 12 fish taken on the long nymphs (french leader) all fish between 10 and 15 inches in length. Some tricky wading...if anyone finds a pair of polarized Oakleys...they're mine! Haha
will definitely return soon. Many thanks and well done.

The water was high and dark with recent rain. Nasty squalls made the going hard and, after some hours with only one good take on a nymph, I beat a retreat. PS there are a lot of plastic bottles, probably from the river in spate, on the riverbank. I took away what I could, but it needs looking at.

Left Worcester in torrential rain and arrived at Titley to a steady downpour. River in good condition to start then became slightly coloured. Variety of sedges and upwing flies including the odd mayfly on the water. Six trout to a combination of small mayfly nymph, wet hares ear and plover and dry mayfly, best 10 inches. Also a minnow. Fished from 10:00 until 17:00 without seeing another person.

Arrived at 5pm. Fish rising in all pools. Caught 5 small WBT from the lower end of beat on cdc emerger. Then had a nice 10" fish on a home dressed cdc emerger, my first catch on my own fly!! Wonder how many anglers remember that moment?? Feels good... A further 3 good sized fish to a size 14 Adams before all went quiet at about 8.30. First time on this beat and loved it tho you do have to duck n dive under the canopy to get the best out of it but that's half the fun for me!! Also had a brief chat with the owner who seems a nice chap and full of good info.
Big thanks to him and WUF for another great place to spend a few hours trying not to catch branches..
Only managed lower half so will be back soon to explore upper section
