Lost a fish from the Maddox after about 10min battle. Saw a few fish in the Vanstone and the Maddox. Low river level so it was hard to find fly water but we had fun all day. New location of the car park helps a lot.

Again first time on this beat. River was low and clear with hot clear blue skies above. Plenty of Fish in the river but just not interested in feeding. Fished approx 10am to 6pm so not ideal. If you see previous report on this stretch anglers fished well into the evening and given the conditions this is what we should have done to give a better chance of catching fish.
A beautiful stretch of river but essential to get a lift off the farmer as it's a long walk. Thanks W&U we had a lovely day in a beautiful setting.

The river was low and the weather was bright with plenty of Sunshine. Sweetcorn and meat accounted for 7 chub during the afternoon from various swims. Settled down to try for barbel and managed a couple, but had to wait until 7pm with the light starting to fade.
Finally, well done to the owners for providing plenty of accessible swims on this short but beautiful stretch of river.

Day 4 of 5 and our group had grown to 3. The barbel were a good average size topped by a fish of 10lb 2oz with a 9 and some 8s. Fish were caught throughout the day without ever getting their heads down and fell to a variety of pellet and boilies baits fished below feeders. Areas fished were mainly the wood but also Leggs Meadow which proved unproductive.

A beautiful day and my first time on this lovely beat. Catching trout hard work, though! Fished from 10-4 and had one WBT on a deep nymph, lost another. Plenty of fish rising but not interested in my dry offerings. Felt I should have done better - will return to give it another blast.

Stiff down stream breeze didn't help but that abated by late morning. No fish rising, fished a duo with PTN and caught 5 trout around 8 -10 inches. Saw one diseased fish around 2 pound. Appeared to have white fungal growth around its head.
