Fished the previous day when the river was rising. This time it was lowering and dropped 1ft. Still some colour though. Fished the same method of pellets and feeder. E and S caught throughout the day at steady intervals. They left at 3.30pm for the drive back to Kent. Less weed coming down. However the barbel fought like tigers in the fast flow. Again one eel caught about 2lbs.

A good colour and level to the water was a welcome sight although the morning session was strangely quiet with only two barbel and three chub showing any interest. The forecast light showers turned into heavy rain after lunch, limiting our desire to roam and we finished damp but happy with six barbel and nine chub on halibut pellet.

River in high water and coloured so stayed with feeder tactics shallower water hard to fish without large tackle losses due to slipping under rocks etc so spent most of our time roving around the deeper water at both ends of the beat and had steady action all day. Finished very happy even though it rained on us all day for the second day running,. Fabulous just to be out on the beautiful river Wye thanks wuf, :-)

Overcast with drizzle and stiff Northerly breeze. fished both sides with both fly and spin. No sign of life and no other fishermen on the lake. Tend to agree with other postings that this water is not being maintained. Enjoyable peace and quiet despite no success.

Difficult day on a rising river. Had one proper bite all day and managed to lose what felt like a decent fish. Also managed to lose about 20 quids worth of feeders, leads and hooks! Lovely beat though. Always a pleasure to fish a WUF beat.

Arrived at 2pm with my daughter to lovely looking beat and red hot sunshine. The river was carrying colour and up couple a feet so we feeder fished pellet, landing two tiny barbel after a down pour. Switched from fishing mid river to slack water after constantly picking up weed on the line and landed two decent chub on the 4lb mark then switched back to main flow at 6pm and pulled in 4 more barbel, the biggest going 5lb to the delight of my little girls face. Small beat but enjoyable.

Good level to the river and just a tinge of colour on arrival. Promising start with a few small trout to GRHE. Some truly tropical downpoors added more colour to the river and the fishing slowed down. However three further trout added 8-13inches made a very satisfactory day an a excellent antidote to the recent low rivers.

River falling this morning and looking good! I was only able to fish an hour in the morning but it looked promising. Nothing caught though. Thanks again to Barry who owns this stretch for his infectious enthusiasm for fishing!
