Conditions good, fished from 8:00am to 18:30pm. Four of us on this stretch ,we mainly fished two swims on the meadow and the other two anglers moved around more from the woods to the meadow. Unfortunately no fish. As always a beautiful place to fish but not so lucky this time. All were using feeder tactics with various hook bait, maybe a change in method needed for next visit.

First swim only produced chub. Wanted barbel so changed swim early afternoon. Hooked 4 barbel in an hour, lost one. Next cast started getting weed hitting my line, river started to rise and barbel completely switched off, then continued to catch chub down the inside. Bit disappointing that the conditions changed and stopped me bagging up on barbel. Second time on this beat for me and it was mostly chub last time too. Lovely beat with good flat banks, very safe in wet conditions.

Water was high and rather coloured but otherwise quite fishable. Had one 1lb trout (returned) and together with an otter watched a solitary salmon porpoise its way upstream, hopefully to be followed over the next few weeks by many more fish.

River good height but very coloured, fished hard for 4 hours but only saw one fish move. Rain came in hard so called it a day but very enjoyable.

1 x coloured hen fish, 30 inches, on a Bann Shrimp. I had to work hard for this on a very dark, wet afternoon. River seemed in good play, but the occasional dark fish showing in a couple of the usual hotspots did not seem to want to play. This one came from Isaacson's Run, not known as a catch in recent years. Never say die.
