River woefully low, the lowest I have ever seen it, pools which are usually waist deep are knee deep or less!!!
Anyway I saw plenty of trout and grayling, problem was they saw me first!!! lol
Did see a BIG trout (at least 2lb) but got nowhere near making a cast for him before he was off!

Short evening session. Arrow very low. Fished couple of faster stretches. A lot of rising fish but mainly small grayling. Finally latched on to a feisty 12" trout on a small tan klinkhammer. Trout caught this year on Arrow seem to be significantly bigger than last year. Gave up when rain started.
Saw a mink - have now seen mink on both Mowley Wood and Court of Noke this summer.

Arrived at midday, the river looked very nice, a little lower than on my previous visit. Watched the water for a while but saw no fish rising despite a few varied flies coming off. Found a few fish rising eventually and managed to take a small brown trout off the surface on a dry fly which is always nice. I was determined to fish a dry fly as fish were rising on and off during the day and I did miss a few takes but despite my best efforts no more fish were caught. I'm finding I tend to struggle a little on the bigger rivers so maybe some guiding would be helpful.

Our 3rd day on this trip and still the fish are not looking up, despite perfect conditions. We fished a tandem rig most of the day and the nymph again accounted for the vast majority of fish. Some real beauties up to 3lb lost before the net. Best fish today about 2lb.
Superb fishing thank you Wye & Usk Foundation.

A late start, about mid day, and the predicted rain hammered down at times in an otherwise grey but very warm day. Rises were sparse until late afternoon and early evening, but Mayflies were still around, and the odd one or two were sipped below the surface or snapped under bank-side vegetation. I prospected with a wide range of Mayflies, mostly looking in likely places where fish might be. I missed several by being taken by surprise and a lack of concentration, but caught 9 WBT in all - three of which were of a notable size. A beautiful setting.

Warm and overcast day with the river running low. Started fishing at 0800 with very little fly life. Started with upstream nymphs fished deep that produced 2 small trout in the first 10 mins. A few grayling came to the net over the next couple of hrs then a hatch of yellow sally stoneflies got the fish looking up and they were pretty keen to take my pale olive emerger pattern. Fished till about 16:00 then called it a day. No fish of great size to mention predominantly from 8" to 15". Fantastic day.
