Beautiful morning with the stream running clear. I fished early and caught six wbt around 4-6 inches. Nothing rising initialy so first few were caught on ptn. I then used a Parachute Adams as there were a few rises as the morning warmed up. That did the trick and I caught four and lost as many again. Donated a few flys to the trees as usual, its very overgrown on this beat.
A good few hours sport on a challenging stream.

Wow! Great bit of water but in a push to get home only gave it an hour but a heavy nymph hooked a 14" wbt, biggest of the weekend. Can't wait to return for a proper session. Thanks again Wye and Usk Foundation!

A lovely day but no fish seen or caught. The lower half of the beat had more promise but overhanging vegetation and inexperience with small streams rather got the better of us. Previous catch reports show plenty of fish so technique may well be the issue. Green spider and PTN had no success.

Beautiful stretch of water - very technical wading and quite tricky to fish - stealth being everything! Fish rising to dry flies and also taken on wets/spiders.

I couldn't fish in the morning so hit the water at about 7pm as the sun was starting to go down. A few shad seen just below the salmon. River gin clear and at a good height. Sadly no fish by 9:30pm at which point I had to leave. A beautiful evening on the river though!

Enjoyable day on a lovely stretch. Fished it last week in higher water with a little colour, which produced more fish. Harder this week in lower gin clear water. Had 5 trout to 1lb all on nymphs. Yet to see a repeat rise from a fish, even with a steady hatch of Sedges and various uprights. The wading is a nightmare but I'll be back for more.

I have only fished the upper section of this beat - there are a couple of nice pools from which I had half a dozen fish. There are however long slow stretches that are unlikely to produce fish - and which seem very sensitive to lack of rainfall. Interestingly, I didn't see a fish rise all day and the abundent mayfly hatch of a couple of weeks ago was no more. All fish therefore taken on nymphs and my newly purchased mayfly patterns kept dry for next year.

First time on this beat a nice part of the river in beautiful surroundings, sunny and warm. Fish caught on gold head grgh and chech nymphs. Trout generally small with largest one at a pound. Fish of the day was a surprise chub at 2.5 lbs.

Oh dear, what a disappointment after the last 3 days on Wye and Usk. Dirty brown water, overgrown banks; it felt more like a Louisiana bayou. I kept a good lookout for alligators in the swampy sections. There should be machete's supplied. The so called access points were hidden in the jungle and when I finally found one it was derelict. Not that it mattered because once in the water there was nothing to see. We left at lunchtime after a couple of small fish on the nymph.
