River started to colour up by mid afternoon. No rising fish seen.

Fished the stretch through Merthyr Town from Rhydycar up to Brecon Road with a friend today. Strong winds but lots of LDO's and Brook Dunns on the water with trout feeding happily. Caught several fish each, all on dry fly patterns up to 2lb. All the fish were wild (No stockies).

Drove up from Cornwall early hours of Saturday morning, beat was very easy to find.
Hooked big fish in Legg Meadow Pool ona Flying C, only on briefly, I believe it to have been a big pike.
As tubing had deep cuts all over it. Saw 3 salmon show, 1 just above Legg Meadow Crib the other 2 were below it.

4 good trout to 14" caught. Lovely stretch of river but wading tricky.

Only little trout, nice place. No surface activity.

4 trout caught on worm and about 20 perch.

3/4 lb brown trout on caught (and released) on nymph.
Only very, very occasional rises seen.

Water quite coloured, couldn't see feet when wading. One convincing pull on the dangle in Maddox, a 2lb trout from mid Vanstone and a 14 inch Shad from Vanstone, almost immediately afterwards! All on copper black and yellow monkey, super-fast sink tip. No salmon sighted otherwise but a lovely bit of fly water nonetheless.

Hard days fishing, the weather turned against us. A beautiful beat indeed.

A cold and partly rainy day, no rises seen at all and no interest in any nymphs offered! Blank day sadly. Enjoyed the usual warm welcome at the Seven Stars.
