Good mornings fishing managing 7 barbel to just over 8lb. Fished the stretch below the woods amongst the weeds for a change and surprised myself with the fish I had. It seemed devoid of life so just goes to show.

I had a good afternoon & evening at wooded end of fishery
with 6 barbel ( best 10.2lbs) & 5 chub (best 5.4lbs), all on pellet and groundbait feeder. George fished first swim in Legg
Meadow for 2 barbel and 5 chub. Must thank Don for his help & advice.

Struggled in the morning as it was a boiling hot day but had 3 nice barbel late afternoon fishing from the croy near the noisy water pump. A few salmon hanging about in that pool too. Lovely beat, will explore more of it next time.

A dificult day in hot sunny conditions. We struggled during the day with only one barbel caught. However sport improved from 7pm onwards, although eels were active when fishing meat. It is always a pleasure just to be here regardless of the sport and I was pleased to see the new swims cut out. We look forward to trying these in future.

My first blank on the Wye. Not even a knock. Maybe the weather? Very sunny but with a northerly wind in July - very odd. But a beautiful day all the same on the beach part of the beat. Saw half a dozen silver tourists though. Farmer very friendly and helpful. Angler on the opposite bank with a keep net - bit odd. Thanks again WUF.

A classic Monnow day. Some fish had no discernible spots, others had faint spots. All yellow underparts. Caught fish on Coch y Bonndhu, Daddy Longlegs. Many Mayflies still about. Nice to see booth Kingfishers and Dippers on the same stretch.

First time on this beat for my friend and self. Parking and access are good. The hill to get to the lower stretch is interesting. Hot sunny day with low level and flow. We both tried all over with various techniques/baits to no avail whatever I'm afraid, even the usually voracious and numerous chub seemed relatively scarce. Unfortunately, first impressions tend to affect confidence and like an earlier reporter I'm unlikely to return to this beat.
