This is our 4th visit to this beat. Water much higher than before, river made large changes of course over the winter. Light coloured, weather excellent, very pleasant 3 hours fishing. Usual success of zero landed, however did have a couple of good takes.

Beat:The Breconshire Fishery

Fishing:Trout (River)

10 x trout 11 - 17 inches, on spiders, mainly Woodcock and Hare's Lug, and the last three on a Deer Hair Emerger. A good day, warmish but not too bright, water at a nice level. I fished from 10 to around 2.30. There were just two, short (about 15 minutes each) march brown hatches which had fish showing their heads in the fast water at the heads of pools.

Fished 'meadow' section by willows from 11 am - 4 pm with 1 WBT about 14" using down stream pheasant tail. Warm but no insect life to talk of. Didn't see any other fish all day but a pleasant location and enjoyed the experience.

Only managed a couple of hours, the previous day's tumble took its toll, even an effort to cut the bacon this morning! Nil caught.
Note: My little incident yesterday, do we all carry a phone when fishing in the back of beyond? And are others aware of the 112 emergency number? I understand that they can pin point you via GPS? Just a thought.
