Just the 2 Chub today, both caught on bread flake. Fished nearly every swim but they just were not having it or I'm not very good. Still, better that being at Work!

4 trout to hand, but not one of them would tell me where all the grayling were! Ha! I let them go all the same!

River seemed to be up a couple of feet and very fast flowing. We will definitely be returning when conditions are better!

Conditions perfect for this time of year, but fish hard to find. Good sized OBT taken within the first few cast to heavy nymph. No other fish taken until early afternoon then a hatch of BWO happened and I had 4 Grayling to the dry.

Fishing for pike, dead baits. Tried a few swims without luck, maybe another time. River level ok, could do with a tinge of colour. Thanks WUF for the easy booking system.

6 x grayling 14-16 inches, 4 x out of season trout 10-16 inches, long trotting. Bright sunshine, but the air temperature was rather less than we had been promised; it was minus 4 when I arrived and rod ring icing continued to hamper fishing until midday. Finally struggled up to 2 degrees by late afternoon, with shaded areas still frozen. Grayling were spread out in individual lies rather than shoaled up.

River was in excellent order, perhaps it was just me or my quarry picking up the vibrations from my shivering legs. Not normally a beat I blank on but there you go eh? One of those weekends, even booked a beat for Sunday that I can't make it! An inauspicious end to the year, back in the spring!

The river was high but very clear. We caught one chub on spam using a ground bait feeder and halibut pellets. We didn't get any other bites.

All looked good for a session on the Irfon. Recent catch reports had been good, the Cilmery guage read 0.56 and the weather, if cold, was dry.
Off I went at 6am for the 98 mile drive to Llangammarch Wells.
Started fishing at 9am with that youthful enthusiasm that I hope will never leave me, even though I'm in my late 50's!
To cut what could be a long story short, I blanked! The only excitement being a fish on briefly and lost, and lots of "leaf fish"
To add insult to injury I broke the top section of my rod and put two, barbed wire inflicted holes, in my waders, resulting in a wet leg and a very cold foot!
I gave up at 2.30pm wondering why I bothered! It was cold with the rod rings freezing until late morning.
Some degree of order was restored when I stopped in at Sportfish and ordered a new rod tip and Danny ( thank you Danny) offered to repair my waders.
Some days I wonder why I bother! But I always go back!
