Came here last minute as our booked beat was not fish-able due to flood. River high and boiling when we arrived, fining down through the day. Tried trotting but difficult in fast water with much debris. Caught several small chub down the edge in slack water using maggot under heavy chubber float. My fellow angler stuck it out all day on ledgered pellet and was rewarded by barbel late afternoon @6-7lb each.

The first barbel came within half hour, so thought we were in for a great days fishing, but the river started to rise with all the rain. We still managed to catch throughout the day, 4 barbel caught to 7lbs 12ozs. Still a great days fishing on pellet and feeder.

A tough day fishing, river was high, coloured and the fastest transport link for whole tree trunks down to Flip Flops!
