Fished dawn til dusk with all fish coming at either the beginning or end of the day when the sun wasn't directly on the water. The eight hours between the two periods of activity were hard work! All fish, including a small dace (?), were caught using the feeder with either pellets or dumbbell boilies. The river was no lower than it was when I last fished Wyebank back in early July but there was a lot more loose weed and debris running through the swim that kept catching on our lines. There were also a lot of canoes/kayaks between 12pm (after the rain stopped) and 4pm. All fish were small but pristine, the largest being just shy of 3lb.

Wind picked up during the day, but at least the rain stayed away. There were fish rising, I think they were trout. We managed to catch some trout on dry but most were taken on heavy bugs and no grayling were caught. We also caught some small silver fish I think we're dace. 2 canoe's paddled past about 2.30pm which scraped their way down river over the boulders as there was not much water, they are not taking any notice of the rules as the last few times I have fished this beat canoes have come past.
Was a great day though thanks w/usk.

Tricky fishing with weed floating through all day. Lovely looking stretch, especially stunning below the bridge.

What an amazing place. Waggler fished meat/maggot in fast water until 3pm when the river was shadowed - nothing. Then feeder fished pellet and long hook link and caught 2 chub and a barbel at the end of the fast water. Thank you.

Very enjoyable day, river very low and clear, canoe traffic very light. Ended up with a barbel a piece, not bad for a hard days fishing. Will be back soon.

River very low and clear. 1 chub of around 2lb and 3 barbel 5.10 6.8 and 7lb. All the fish were in great condition and came from the faster section at the top of the beat. A fantastic place to fish and we can't wait to fish it again. Thanks to Wye and Usk.

Good job we brought the pike gear, as only a few silvers were obliging. Definitely not a low water beat. 2 very tentative chub bites all weekend to 2 rods. CW outnumbered TM, but TM pulled out the big gun. Quality fishing hut provided. Shame Vanstone pool not part of beat.
