Wonderful afternoons fishing, best trout 14 inches, best grayling 12 inches. Fish feeding on the surface all over the place. Lots of takes, very hard to hook, most fish had on gold head hares ears. Beautiful beat, we will be back.

Thought it might be tough going today, flat calm low and crystal clear. Walked down to the bottom of the beat and saw nothing on the way! Fished french leader style in the streamier water around the rocks and caught lots of tiny trout and only a few grayling 9 to 12" (lost one that felt big in one of the pools). Back again tomorrow, change of tactics needed I think!

Again with the water low and clear we thought that catching fish might be a no go. We had 7 Barbel between us using spicy baits and ground baits. The weather was overcast so I believe this helped. Fished the upper section by the orchard finding the channel two thirds across. So nice to be out within great scenery watching the wildlife go by. Thanks to WUF for letting this happen.

Fished the river for the last time in the trout season yesterday. Started off on the lower river (Pontypridd) with very little success. Only managed 1 small trout and a couple of grayling. Moved up river to MTAA waters and managed over 2 dozen fish ranging between 1/2lb up to 2 1/2lb on dries and nymphs. Just love fishing the upper Taff at the back end of the season.

Grabbed 2 hours fishing this lunch time for WBT. River desperately low and in places there were more leaves than river! I did not manage to catch a fish but did have two fish splash at the fly.
