Very shallow water but good bankside. Nice place to fish, huge amount of boats and I could of caught far more without them. All fish caught on feeder fished pellet.

Sudden rains over previous day or so had considerably swollen river level - very muddy and fast - fished from bank. Both bottom and float but just a couple of bites and no catches all day.

A beautiful day with perfect conditions on this stunning beat. Great fly water and excellent access throughout with a good combination of named salmon pools and shallow gravel glides fro trout and grayling. No sign of any salmon but some good fun in the evening for trout.

Challenging fishing in a beautiful location with deep water in places. Had trouble finding the beat but eventually found the track to the upper limit footbridge. The fishing in the upper section is very limited due to the steep bank. I could not fish the other bank as I could not find the path that avoided the white cottage, even though one is shown on your beat map. This was a pity as I could not reach the best water. Caught 3 trout, one being 1lb+. A good day but the signage could be better.

Early start on the bank for 5am, river 600mm up and rising with plenty of colour, and debris's evident. This in-turn narrowed the swim choice. Opted for the first swim over the bridge, bit of a eddy but no real slack water, straight lead 3oz and meat the size of a golf ball down the side, even with 3oz it was being dragged in to with in 12-15ft of the bank. First slamming bite at 5.45am resulted in the best of 4 Barbel going close to 9lbs and in spectacular condition. Tried the pellet and feeder but this only attracted barrow full's of weed on the retrieve (every 5mins due to constant build up). Back to the BIG meat, the bites were so ferocious in the flow, even with the bait runners on, lost 2 fish on the take as they took 20+yds off! Cormorants feeding on small chub, eels, and dace directly to my left under the willow, sad sight. Left at 10.30am after sun burnt through. No canoes by then, great time to be out, loved it. Home for a fry-up. Would be nice if we could post pics here?

No luck today, water discolored & swollen by heavy rain the days before. Good fun, but surprised by the amount of litter washed downstream.
Could not find the large oak!

Nice day, after the rain days before - a bit of colour but seemed to suit nymphs. Only fished the morning. Down from the bridge: 3 trout 8-9 ins, 1 grayling 11 ins. 2 kingfishers - heaven! Had a brief chat with the owner from the holiday cottage. Lives in Ripon, near where I come from in N Yorks. Seemed puzzled by my short-line nymphing. Friendly and helpful - thanks for letting us have this lovely place!

No Salmon seen or caught but 1 Trout about a pound which was returned from Ty Mawr pool on a spinner and several follows from trout and one lovely chub about 2lb caught on the spinner. Water was very colored but a good height. Tried to fish Rock pool but water to dirty to wade so tried to spin from the bank. Fishing was to difficult due to so much vegetation so couldn't fish it right through.

Conditions absolutely perfect for spinner and worm. I opted for the latter. On arrival at around 8.30pm, 2 other anglers were just packing up. One had caught a 2.5lber and lost a 4.5lber on spinner. The other had caught 2 trout around a pound, also on spinner.
I loaded a worm and had a good knock first cast. Second cast produced a hard fighting 2.5lbs silver sewin, netted by one of the other anglers. 3 other fish to 4lbs followed in the next hour with several others missed. One fish around 1.5lbs taken home, everything else released.
Fish appeared in the head of the pool with a few larger fish showing including a couple of double figure clonkers. Left happy around 9.45pm after it all went quiet.
Returned at 5am and to a chilly morning and a valley mist. Not good as in my eperience, a mist generally puts the fish down. Had a few knocks, sewin and trout but nothing took enthusiastically. Had the absolute pleasure of fishing with 3 otters right in front of me for half an hour. Beautiful. It seem this last rise has finally brought some fish up river.

Last day of 4 on WUF and the second on this stretch. River was up at least 5 feet and racing through, bringing vast amounts of weed. Decided to give it a go at the top of the stretch, but again weed was going to be a problem. Just as we started setting up, Colin arrived and suggested that the swims we had chosen would be very difficult and he directed us to two pegs closer to the bend where the current was less and there was some slack water. Big thank you to Colin. Managed 4 barbel in the first hour and another 6 spread out during the day. Largest 7lb 13oz. Had to finish at 6pm to travel home, but with the water dropping back and the weed flow a little less, we would have expected further fish into the evening. All fish taken on either single or double 12mm pellet.
