River low, very little flow so we knew it was gong to be difficult to catch. Had 4 barbel to 7lbs and 3 chub to 4lbs on pellet and sweetcorn at the rocks. Plenty of snags about and lots of tackle lost. Only spot with any flow so stuck it out. Anyone going soon would be advised to take something to prune back some branches of overhanging trees unless expert at casting underarm which I'm not!

Well arriving early saw a good few chub feeding at first light 4am, but few barbel. However as the feed went in it drew the barbel up into the swim. Caught plenty of chub between 2-3lbs plus a few at 1lb. Then at 10am the barbel came up into the swim and the activity from then on was none stop. Keep casting out every 10 minutes. Used plenty of pellets plus a good few kg of ground bait. Finished right the day. At 7pm knackered but happy. Thanks to WUF and Don and Rudi for a great day. Looking forward to returning. The end count was 26 barbel between 2-7lbs and 31 chub. Plus one eel.

I'm afraid no fish caught. I think water pump on all day did not help, need to invest in hearing aid now! Lovely stretch but not even a bite, still, weather was great thanks.

Canoeists spoiled the fishing, shame as the beat was nice place to fish. Many thanks to Don for his help.

Fished from 11am to 4:30pm on a warm, sunny and cloudy day. River running low and clear with few flies about and only two small fish seen rising.
I had an unexpectedly great days fishing catching 19 trout and losing about ten more. Most of the fish were about 5-8 inches with a few bigger ones, including one of around 12 inches. All were caught fishing upstream on a long French nymphing leader with two tungsten beaded PT/HE nymphs. Most of the fish came from deep water with a good flow.
Note: if you cross the small footbridge and turn right, watch out for a 6 inch high strip of barbed wire across the path that goes through the undergrowth. It's about 25 yards from the bridge and seems to be part of an old collapsed fence.

Two nice fish caught in quick succession at about 9:30pm. Plenty of fish activity. The river was quite low so many of the pools had little flow in them.
