A bright, blustery day with the cool wind coming downstream. I spent about six hours on the beat and didn't see a single fish.

Lovely beat. Sadly the weather meant very few fish on top despite huge hatches coming off about 2pm. A parachute olive did the trick between 2 & 3pm. Fish in good condition.

A nice day with fish coming to both upstream nymph and dry. Best patterns were CDC dun & Baetis nymph. There was a significant hatch of olives around 1pm which got the fish looking upwards but it was soon spoilt by a strengthening downstream wind. A pike of 6 or 7 pounds was spotted lurking near the head of one of the pools too. Thanks WUF & landowner.

Lost a good fish wednesday evening, 20.45hrs, at the top of the run in to the run past the willow. Tail of boat? It wasn't on long as it took right at the end of the rod in 14 inches of water and went straight upstream! I was so surprised to see it all happen I didn't tighten quick or hard enough and the hooks eventually came out after it had shot across the river. Very fresh 12-14lbs.
