Fished with fly 0830 to 1330 nothing seen or caught. Weather overcast light occasional showers. River level good wading in some areas possible. Tried the spinner after lunch 2nd cast opposite the gravel bank caught a Pike approx 4lbs. Sun appeared quite warm afternoon nothing else seen or caught except one clam! Then every cast came back with weed on the hook on every part of the river that I tried. I had a good day out got some good and needed wading and casting practice in. Thanks. TM

River was a good level, although slightly coloured after some rain overnight. Weather was sunshine and showers and quite windy so very litte action on the surface. We both spent the majority of the day nymphing with sucess on a hares ear and pheasant tail patterns - but needed weighted patterns to get them down.

2 trout at about 10-12 inches and 2 at 6-8 inches, all safely returned.

Another great day and looking forward to my next visit.

Beat:Wyebank

Fishing:All Species (in season)

I had two fresh fish this morning on fly Wyebank. Yellow flamethrower. perfect conditions, mild, water temp mid to high 50s, overcast, light westerly wind. est 12lb from lower crib and est 14lb from bottom pool. The water has held steady for 5 days now at 2" below summer level on the Lydbrook gauge and lots of it - a different place without weed backing it up and great to fish with fly.

Cloudy cool day with a low river.
The fishing was good with trout rising readily to the dry fly. A drop of rain would do no harm however.

Few olive's hatches. I did catch 6 small trout (8"to 9") on dry flies. Water level quite low. Nice day out.

Fished wet and dry fly and nymph. Dry conditions on 7th, but
consistant rain and wind on 8th and 9th. Although no fish caught, I still enjoyed fishing these
beautiful scenic waters.

1 Parr, no Salmon. River running very low, with wind getting a bit gusty. Still a great place to spend the day.

Blank. Oh my, I do find this one challenging! You need to be early, before the vegetation grows over it, you need a windless day to help you cast accurately up the tiny channel, and it should be warm enough for fish to be rising. Nothing was rising today and no less than four heavy tractors planting potatoes in the top end fields next to the stream didn't help. As before, saw plenty of fish in places, including some fat trout running for cover, but all of them seemed already to have been spooked. It's an amazing little river though, full of life.
