River very low but rose approx. 2 cms on the day. Just occasional trout rising to olives. Saw one red fish on the rock and a couple below the bridge between pub and cables. Fished hard to no avail. A moderate spate would be most welcome.

River once again down to its bones. Had to wander far and wide to temp barbel from 5 to 7lbs and one 4lb chub. A very enjoyable workout on a beat with loads of spots to try.

Very slow day. 2 started on the croys with 1 having a fish 1st cast and losing one 2nd cast and nothing after that. 1 other fish caught at the top end that weighed 9.6 lbs. A couple lost in snags later in the day. The river really needs a bit of water to get it going.

Fishing was difficult, rained all day. 4 chub caught under nearside cover, all in beautiful nick with the biggest 5lb. All fell to feeder tactics, pellet and hemp. Trout fell to bronze maggot on trotting stickfloat. Lovely stretch of river although banks became precarious the wetter it got. Cattle were bit of a pain.

No fish caught. The walk to the river must be close to mile over a very rough track, need to be young and fit manage it of which I am neither. The farmer will take you down and back for £5.

A great day for fishing - the weather was light rain and drizzle the trout where rising. Not that I could catch them on a dry. I tried lots but my inexperience let me down.
Went on to fish duo method in the afternoon and caught 2 trout, 1 of about 9" and another lovely trout about 18" or around 1 1/2 lb, both on a ptn. Great spot, hope to come back next year.

Overcast calm day, seemly perfect for fishing but river seemed to have switched off with just the odd bite throughout the day. Best barbel 7.07. Very pleasant stretch of river.

1st ever visit...so bit of a recce. Wish I had known to turn right at the bottom of the steps...not left, although it was a nice walk. Eventually fished under the power lines just before rocks...caught nothing( fished for 3 hours), but enjoyed it. Banks slippery(need wellies or winter boots). Fished for pike with mackerel and then small halibut pellet for barbel. Definately need to carry light (I had a ruck sack/seat...as wanted to walk around swims)
Will try again .... but need to focus on 1 species. Based on feedback online, I didn't really know where on the river to fish.....middle, far bank??
