It felt more like the end of Feb rather than the end of March, cold NE wind. Really nice beat but not sure what to do on the big long glide with nothing rising, but some lovely water. I understand it was lower than normal but my last visit here was mid summer in 2010, so to me it looked a lot better. Nothing happened until 2:30 ish when the wind dropped, some flies coming of the water then frantic half hour saw three fish landed around 1.5lb, missed another three or four. All fish returned. All caught on a Parachute Adams. The wind returned and the fish disappeared, but three nice fish , cant be bad for a days fishing.

Weather took a quick dip on Saturday, the warm March sun had disappeared for a day and a cooling Northerly breeze reduced the air temp substantially on previous days. There were few granom about and although there were a few flying about at times there was no discernable hatch. Around 2pm there was a good hatch of 'March Browns' not sure if they were true March browns or not, the fish responded well and rose well for quite a while. Managed a dozen fish on a mixture of small pheasant tail and hares ear nymphs and a couple on emergers. Nothing of leviathan proportions, fish to just about a pound or so nice but challenging days fishing.
