Beat:R40, PANDY BEAT

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

River levels very low on the day, locals saying that they never see fish in the river, very stroppy Welsh Black cattle roaming up and down the beat, filthy weather....but I had one of the best days fishing I've ever had..... a small 7' brook rod and a couple of dries,(from a great shop in Prague by the way, called 'Spin and Fly'...well worth a visit)
Two brownies that took all day, stayed a couple of miles up the road at the ALLT YR YNYS country hotel (A465 HEREFORD, TURN LEFT AT THE PANDY INN....not before having a pint of course)great accomodation, food more than a little heavy! but they let you fish the river in front the hotel....very good breakfast.

Beat:R52 Crai Lower

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

Found the upper Crai in excellent condition with a good flow of clear mountain water. Conditions very hot and bright. Prolific olive hatch from 11am onwards. Resisted and "unmatched the hatch" with a para adams which resulted in 16 wbt, the majority 6"-8".

Beware of the horse flies when changing at the bottom of the beat!!
