18 x grayling 11-17 inches, mostly fish of 15-16 inches in pristine condition. A lovely autumn day, with the Irfon high and slightly peaty, but most pools were fishable and the level was on its way down. The first four grayling were on a dry Klinkhammer during the morning, but fish didn't really want to rise, so later I switched to heavy nymphs and the catch rate increased. A Pink Shrimp was the one they wanted, without exception. Not a single trout showed up. A really delightful fishing day.

Arrived to a very warm overcast day, directions spot on, loved the kamakazee pheasants down the lane enroute to the river. Nice cut out swims on really nice stretch of river. Ended the day with 10 barbel and 3 lost, 7.5lb to 8.5lb and 3 chub to 2.5lb all on pellet. If it wasn't for the weed coming down and bending the rod double every 2 minuntes I'm sure we could have doubled our catch quite easily.
Apart from that we had a brilliant days fishing on a lovely stretch of river and the fish were stunning, worth the drive a hundred times over. Also, a big thanks to local lad Joe for some good tips. Can't wait to return.

First time on this stretch and thoroughly enjoyable it was too. Level dropping after previous day's flush, colour still reminiscent of wife's gravy and a bit of weed coming through. Found a fish or two here and there and, sticking to the near bank, finished with 4 barbel landed, a chunky one lost, one chub and a gudgeon.
Like the cut-out swims and steps - very posh! Bailiff visited and offered useful (but unproductive on the day) advice.
A small criticism but no mention in the instructions of the vast numbers of kamikaze pheasants playing chicken (or whatever they call it) in the lane. Reminded me of Pamplona where my car is the bull.
Saw a huge bird of prey high in a tree above me. Just looked black in silouhette but bloke opposite with a better angle and binoculars reckoned it was an osprey.

Not a good day, river muddy following the recent rain, not a bite all day, started at 11.00 am and finished at 15.00, only spotted one fish rise about 13.45 and that was all. Overcast but no rain, the river was starting to clear by 15.00.

First off, this a is beautiful spot. Caught 6 trout and lost about the same. First three liked the look of my adams when I first arrived (about 12 or so). Then went exploring down river and found three more on PTN's. The wind hindered my already bad casting all day then turned wet for the last few hours. Great variety of water. Well worth a visit, although like the booklet says its rocky and deep in spots so usual river rules apply.

River rose 3 foot in the afternoon - hopes were high until I discovered how much weed was being transported at all depths through the water column. Managed a barbel and chub but the weed was too much of a menace to keep me there long. Shame - barbel were doing their "feeding porpoise" all over the pool and I'm sure I'd have had one a chuck without the vast amounts of weed. Should fish well over the next few days.

2nd day on the beat, the water had come up about 3 feet and racing through, also a lot of weed which has been a problem the last few days, rain and very windy made a difficult days fishing and we gave up early with 2 barbel and 3 chub.
