Tough conditions with little activity on the surface. No fish caught. Good stretch of water though and easy wading.

Lovely beat but cold downstream wind made fishing difficult. A few fish rising when the sun came out. Caught (& returned) one 16 inch trout, on a march brown.

Fish were rising in the pool by the bridge when I arrived at about 12.30 - difficult to tell what they were taking as there were 2 kinds of olives, small paired black flies, the odd Mayfly, sedge, Turkey Brown and all manner of minute black fly and pea-green fly. Eventually started catching fish on an olive pattern and caught fish from a number of glides downstream over the course of the afternoon. Hatches came on and off so waiting game as fish responded. Best 2 fish were around the pound mark. Good and easy wading as per beat description and 2 kingfishers live there too !

As usual great service in booking - many thanks to the team

26 fish caught, mostly trout with a few graylig, biggest of each about 1.1/2lb. Size 14 black emergers and wet flies did the best with olive 'F' fly, parachutes and nymphs accounting for a few. This is an easier wading beat than Ty-Newydd with bigger fish. As with the weekend all fish were caught on or near the top with sporadic rises and small hatches of a variety of flies. Good variety of water with fish throughout at all the likely places. Thanks to Foundation for usual friendly and efficient service.

Two trout, both approx. 8oz. caught on Klinkhammers in fastish water, although very few rises. Both returned.
Nothing on variety of nymphs.
Some form of style over the first barbed-wire fence above the footbridge would save a 200yd. walk up to the gate and back to the river.
Pity we can not park in the field because both times I have been someone, not fishing, has grabbed the yew tree park.

Our incompetence didnt help but we caught a total of two small trout on nymphs, lost two bigger fish, one to nymph, one to dry fly and missed several takes later in the day on dry fly. Both fish returned. A lovely days fishing but possibly a little overpriced at £25.

Beautiful bright sunny day and much warmer than the previous days. Plenty of insect life happening all around. Water slightly cloudier than previous day.
Sporadic activity on surface.
Caught one grayling (about 1/2 lb)on a knotted midge/black spider which was of course returned.
Absolutely fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed it despite not catching much.

17 trout 1/2 to 2.1/2 lb. All fish taken on or near the top on olive 'F'fly, parachute and nymphs fished wet fly style and black emergers size 14. Fish switching from one thing to another all day. Great beat, many pools and runs with easy access and wading, fish throughout. Two distinct types of trout, some golden brown with red spots the others silver bronze with non distinct black spots[smudges}. Most fish were at least a pound with the largest being of the silver variety. Honours about equal. Many different flies on the water, olives, March Browns, stoneflies, all in drips and drabs with an hour of more prolific black midges early afternoon. As always The Foundation were helpfull and efficient, thankyou.
