River very low and clear. The fish came to various small emerger and spider patterns despite only a few fish showing. Mostly small.

Excellent days fishing with all fish caught on the lower half of the beat. All fish caught on spiders with a gold head hares ear on the point. Wind got up in the afternoon and slowed things down considerably. Did try the top end which is normally very good but stones and river bed covered in algae and slime and treacherous for wading. Bottom half of the beat much better. Probably lost as many as I caught with clear water and fish coming short.

Quite cold and intermittent wind. Occasional hatch but few trout rising.

1 Trout

Tough going. Managed two small WBT both on deeply fished red tag PTN. No rising fish evident in 6hr session. Cold wind but otherwise decent conditions. Pretty overgrown and limited access in places.

2 Trout

Water very skinny, clear and fast. Very few signs of life, no fish landed.

Two excellent fish to 2lb +

Dries and Nymphs fished NZ style.

5 Trout

A few fish were showing, even fewer of them were interested in my nymph, and none made it to the net. River longing for some rain (which in got the following night.)
