5:36 pm

How Caple Court : Tough day with cold, rising and coloured water after heavier than expected overnight rain.  A nice Chub came early on and a mid double Pike late afternoon. Love the venue and hope to be back in more favourable conditions.

3:30 pm

Middle Wye : A happy angler on Saturday 25th Jan 2020. "After 20 minutes ledgering and trotting a deadbait though the first swim I went into, I switched to a lure, a Savage Gear 3D trout. 4th cast, bang. Knew it was a good fish, it weighed in at 21lb 5oz. Happy days :) "

4:43 pm

Whitney Court : Visiting father and son anglers John and Renny Clark had a red letter day yesterday returning 5 pike from 8 to 16lb. all from beats 5&6. Sink and draw sprats close to the bank did the trick. Not a single take from the dead bates. They commented that the fish were lean and thinner than normal probably as a consequence of the prolonged high water throughout this wet winter.

Sunday 15 September 2019

12:30 pm

Middle Hill Court: Lots of canoeists reported by D L and M L, though thankfully most were considerate. Otherwise a good day, with barbel nudging 7 lb. The number of canoes should hopefully continue to get less as the temperatures drop (and now that the kids are back at school!).

12:28 pm

Caradoc: After a tough morning S G headed to the lower end, and ended up with a monster 20 lb carp?! They are not unhearrd of in the Wye, but 20 lbs must be one of the biggest!

Wednesday 11 September 2019

Pant y Llyn: From one angler fishing over the weekend: "Amazing special water. On holiday so only managed 4 hours in the middle of the day with the wife and hounds. Blistering heat, difficult conditions but managed my first Wild Carp of around 4lbs. Perfect special fish which is certainly one of the prettiest to date. Legered a single grain of corn over a bed of hemp and corn."
