Hard going as very bright and cold but had a chub during day and a couple of barbel just as sun went down all on krill

River was about 2m up and 10 degrees. Stefan the bailiff said it would be hard work as the day before only one barbel was caught. I too caught just one, around 5-6lb on groundbait feeder and pellet. That was about 1pm, 2 hours after I started fishing. I was fishing the very top end of the stretch next to the sign. Hooked another at around 4pm from the next fishable swim down. Unfortunately the hook pulled. This felt like a better fish. No other bites. 4oz feeders held bottom fine. Fair few snags. Fished 11am to 5pm. Thanks Wye and Usk - another cracking stretch and I shall be back in March!

The conditions were good but a tough day on the river.

River pushing through but dropping through the daytemp of 9.3 deg,difficult day a lot of leaves dislodging feeder.Small chub of about 2lb just before dark saved a blank.

Conditions much better today after yesterdays downpour. Unfortunately, not much happened but still a pleasant day.

River dropping after recent rain and looking good. But fish not playing the game. Just the one small barbel and chub between the three of us. Disappointing sport.

A good day after a slow start, the others were eels.

4 barbel caught, 1 lost early on and thought that was it for the day, hour later it was away, while that was resting in the net I put my other set up rod out and that was away pretty soon resulting with 2x 8lb+ barbel in the net.
