Warm, overcast, and a light breeze. Started fishing around 7:00am and finished at noon. No hatches observed and only a few occasional rises. Halfway through fishing I spotted a light coloured mayfly(?) on the surface and switched to a good imitation. With that I managed to rise three trout and hook one of them only to have it come off.
Some of the banks are suffering significant erosion.
All in all, a fine day on the river.

Strange day on the beat, its usually more productive than this and although we saw lots of chub and the odd barbel in shallower water they weren't up for feeding. Barbel caught on the last cast, all fish to pellet feeder tactics. River had a strange brown tint to it.

3 anglers fished. Beat well kept and easy to walk down from parking and all along stretch. Some swims not so easy to fish but there is a lot of swims that are. Barbel and chub caught on small pellets. And one shad on meat.
Could do with some platforms or cut outs of bank if possible so all swims are able to be fished, overall a good beat and would recommend.
Fishing Passport Note : The banks of the Wye (and Usk) are protected as a Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). There are, therefore, strict limits as to what can be done with regards bank access for angling, which has to be done sensitively and in compliance with the law.
