What a lovely stretch of river. Very picturesque. Nice easy driving access around the field too. I was expecting a very low and clear river, which it was, so Chub were the target. I float fished and rolled meat on various swims, wading around. I caught 2 clonking Chub on the rolled meat plus 10 chublets on the float. I settled into a swim opposite the Weir gardens for the evening and had 11 more big Chub up to 5lb and managed a lucky 6lb Barbel which was in immaculate condition. Considering the conditions I was very happy with the action. Really enjoyed fishing here, hope to be back when the Wye has a bit more on. Had to leave around 8:30pm as I had a flat tyre, didn't want to be stuck at dusk fumbling around, lucky I had a pump.

Not ideal conditions for fishing with very clear low water. Canoes & swimmers as usual in fine weather when guests renting the house above Lady Alexander's beat. Probably made little difference to the fishing. Enjoyed the new fishing hut...proper job. Thanks for the day.
