Went down in the evening between 7.30 and 9.30 to see if worthwhile targeting rising fish. Very hot and humid. Loads of fly activity including smaller mayflies and BWO I think. Not many fish rising. Caught a rising 15” WBT on a white mayfly pattern and missed two other takes. Lovely couple of hours.

Fished for trout. River on the low side, bright, sunny and no hatches bar a few yellow duns. Tough day but 2 small WBT caught no more than 8 inches, on a stunning beat with, many different features that could keep you occupied for more than the full day we spent there. Fish taken on a soft hackle wet fly to match the yellow duns.
