First time to this venue. Beautiful place to be once you've walked away from the parking areas. A cold day with gusting winds meant a longish trek around to the more sheltered areas where you could cast a flea. Didn't see an insect come off all day but it was cold. Saw my first two swallows, red kites and a cuckoo followed us all day. Birdsong in the woods/ forest was wonderful. It will take a few trips here to 'sus out the plan of attack & I think it needs to be a bit warmer for fly fishing?

4 good size WBT (12" +) on olive pattern. All returned. Sporadic hatches of LDO in between showers brought occasional rises mid to late afternoon. Had to remind myself several times that it is the month of May as snow, sleet and hail swept in off the hills on a cold northerly wind.
