River looked perfect but fished very hard. We were a group of 4 and several other anglers on far bank. A few Chub caught many float fished maggot. No Barbel seen all day. Stayed until it got dark and managed 1 Barbel in the last few minutes of 9lb 8oz making it all worth while.
A lovely stretch when the pumps are not running. Worth putting your wellies on before going through the farm!

Cold start to the day ( 2 degrees) but cloudy and not a breath of wind which is perfect by me. River low and clear but no fly life and I never saw a rise all day. Caught fish from most spots except the long glide on the open field which is normally quite good. Pestered by the oos trout later in the day ( even had two on a once ! ) but one was 18" so I didn't mind that one! .Fished nymphs all day, the biggest grayling was 15" but half of them were quite small.
