Warm sunny day on a low and clear river. I Expected it to be hard going so was pleased to have caught anything. One of the chub was a good 4-41/2 lbs and took off like a barbel when I hooked it. One eel also caught.

Lovely day - only had 2 (my buddy had 10) and surprised we didnt have more. But great fun and my second was best part 2lb!

About 10" on the Erwood gauge, so the river was at a nice height for wading. Caught a grayling and a brown trout in the late morning on heavy nymphs. After lunch, in the warm sunshine, there was the odd rise to some small olives, and I managed 6 grayling on dry flies. In late afternoon, I added a further three grayling on spiders drifted across the slow pools. All the grayling were a similar size - between about 11" and 13".

Wet fly on floating line casting upriver and drifting into the current from side pools. Both trout caught with this method but were only 4-5 inches so returned.

French leader and Nymphs worked deep took the fish, best Grayling was 2lb
