A lovely day spent with my son on this beat. When we arrived the water was slightly coloured from the rain the night before. The mornings fishing was quiet but after lunch we were able to catch 3 trout up to about 8 inches. Missed a few, but the majority of takes were on small nymphs, with the occasional fish going for a dry. As others have commented very few fish rising. Overall a fantastic beat which we will be definitely returning to. On a side note as we were fishing a 20 foot branch came down just below the bridge which may need removing. Missed us by minutes!

A tricky day, the chub were very cagey and no sign of the barbel. A nice beat though with great scenery and some cracking looking spots. The thunderstorms kept away which was lucky because we would never have made it back up the track if it was wet!

This was a short evening trip. The river was at a normal summer height, having risen a bit over the last few days. It was a bit coloured and there was a lot of blanket weed, even in the fast runs. I eventually settled below the Wyebank pool. I had a little barbel first cast then a few small chub. I left before the last hour as there seemed no prospect of improvement. Not a great start to the new season, but things can only get better! The track along the beat, which was always a bit tricky in places has now deteriorated following the winter floods and rain.

Fished the woods section. Plenty of chubby to around 6lbs. 3 barbel were around 4lbs, 6lbs and 8lbs. Lost quite a lot of and tackle but that appears to be the norm here.
