Began fishing around 3pm and fished through to 10pm, but without success. River looked good nice height and colour. We both lost quite a lot of tackle on snags probably as a result of the rubbish that must have been washed down in the heavy floods.

Bank access very difficult over the whole beat i could only access 3 swims 1 of which was already taken which i found disappointing , river was quite low , I caught 7 Eels some of which were over 2 lb not my target but that's fishing , Found the payment side on your website difficult to get processed so had to make a phone booking at a higher cost (NOT IDEAL)

I figured this morning that an early session may be beneficial with the monsoon downpours imminent , so opted for the Whittern beat , parked up at six , by the corn field, and bimbled down to the Hunton bridge , looking a bit murky with yesterday's rain, initially fishing tungsten nymphs, with success in the first few pools , feisty Arrow fish always give a good account of themselves.

Had some fun on those two glides between the bridges ,on dries , small eighteen f fly getting hammered and some really nice confident takes too it ,great fun !!!!

Perhaps it was the weather , but the trout were very savage on the dries this morning, also fished a Parachute Greenwells , lovely splashy rises to it in the faster water too !!

Only fished this morning perhaps couple of hundred yards up passed the Titley Bridge , superb fun and a hectic four hours sport , with fifteen to the net , ranging in size from six to twelve inches ,lovely job , and a few lost on the barbless hooks . . .

Seems an age since i fished the Whittern beat , forgotten how varied and fun it was , its up there with the Kington beat and Edw Cregrina as one of my favourites, spot on !!! Back here again next week , some much needed rain due in later today , happy days!!!!!

Beautiful beat, but very difficult to get to the water. A blank today, not even a bite from the one swim I could fish, most swims are very steep and you are still four foot from the water. The water was low and full of weed(algae) which was attached every time I reeled in.
Lovely location but won't be rushing back unfortunately.

Water was coloured today and they appeared not to be really biting. Forget luncheon meat as you will be plagued by eels.

Fished various areas with pellet and meat catching one of two chub from each swim. River coloured dramatically prior to thunderstorm so packed up early.

Fishing:Trout (River)

Caught in a localised and very heavy storm with all too many lightening strikes nearby. The heavy rain coloured the margins and main river where a small brook ran in. However a trout or two rose to midge and small olive to redeem a very wet evening. A Barn Owl, Curlew and Kingfisher brightened the twilight.
